History

Since 1995 when Tongaat Hulett began converting former sugarcane land to urban uses on the La Lucia / Umhlanga Ridge, the area has attracted more than 1 500 000 square metres of development and become one of South Africa’s fastest-growing urban development nodes. Located 15 kilometres north of the Durban Central Business District and harbour, and 10 kilometres south of the King Shaka International Airport, the area is experiencing ongoing and accelerated real estate investment.

Ridge Management

The 5 associations

Ridge Association Management (Pty) Limited manages five separate Property Owners’ Associations on the La Lucia/Umhlanga Ridge, namely , Umhlanga Ridge Town Centre, Millennium Bridge Business Park, Ridgeside, Parkside Umhlanga Ridge and Cornubia Business Park. The total area under management is 409 hectares with a bulk of 1,995,000 m2.
